Council Receives Two Awards at National  Navy League Convention 

Navy League National President, Mike McGrath, presented a "Meritorious Council" plaque to Atlanta Metropolitan Council President Steve Adams on October 30, 2009, at the National Navy League Convention in Corpus Christi,
Texas. "Well done" to all our council members for the team effort that won this annual recognition for 2008

Navy League National President, Mike McGrath (L), and NLUS National VP for Public Affairs, Patricia DuMont (R), presented the National NLUS Public Affairs Award for 2008 to Atlanta Metropolitan Council President Steve Adams
on October 30, 2009, at the National Navy League Convention in Corpus Christi, Texas. Our council extends a huge "Thank You" to Larry Hamilton,Council VP for Public Affairs, for his outstanding work in coordinating our
Public Affairs initiatives.

 Navy 234th Birthday 

 The Atlanta Metropolitan Council, NOSC Atlanta, NRD Atlanta, and NROTC Unit Atlanta Region hosted the 234th Navy Birthday dinner uesday, October 13th, 2009  at the Consolidated Club, Dobbins’s ARB. The oldest and youngest naval persons traditionally cut the Cake. Captain Phil Sullivan, USN (ret) and PO1 Ron Sounder had the honor this year. Click here for continuation and photos
